First Life And Education: Bhutto was born on 21 June 1953 in Karachi, Pakistan. Her father’s name is Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Her father was the former Prime Minister of Pakistan. Her mother’s name is Nusrat Bhutto. Her mother also involved in Politics. Her father and mother were married in September 1951. Benazir Bhutto was their first child.
Bhutto attended the Lady Jenning Nursery School in Karachi. She was then sent to the Convent of Jesus and in Karachi. After completing her early education in Pakistan. She was then sent to her higher education in the United States. She was completed her B.A Studies at Harvard University in 1973. Later she was completed her studies Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics at the University of Oxford in 1977.
Political Career: In 1977, Bhutto was returned to Pakistan. Her father’s government fell by a military coup, under the leadership of General Mohammad Zia ul-Haq. Bhutto was under house arrest by General Zia ul-Haq. After one year, Zia ul-Haq became President of Pakistan in 1978. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was hanged after being found guilty of sanctioning the killing of an opponent. Benazir Bhutto took charge of the Pakistan People’s Party. She moved to England in 1984. When she returned to Pakistan, she started the countrywide campaign for free elections. Bhutto married Asif Ali Zardari in Karachi on 18 December 1987.
In 1988, Zia ul-Haq was killed in a plane crash. On 1 December 1988, Butto was elected Prime Minister of Pakistan. She became the first Prime Minister of a Muslim Nation. Bhutto was defeated in the 1990 election. In the 1993 election, Pakistan People’s Party again won the election. And Bhutto again became the Prime Minister of Pakistan. She was replaced in 1996. In 1999, she was sentenced to three years in self-exile for corruption. She was re-elected in 2002 as the leader of the Pakistan People’s Party. And from abroad she conducted Party activities. Benazir Bhutto returned to Pakistan on 18 October 2007.
Death: Benazir Bhutto was killed in a suicide car bombing after an election rally in Rawalpindi on 27 December 2007. The assailant first shot him in the neck and later detonated a suicide bomb. About 56 years ago, Liaquat Ali Khan was killed in the same place. Liaquat Ali Khan was the first Prime Minister of Pakistan.
