The University of Southern California (USC) is a private research university in Los Angeles, California. It is one of the most famous universities in the world.  It is the oldest private research university in California. This University was founded by Robert M. Widney on 6 October 1880 AD.

History of USC: The University of Southern California (USC) was founded by Judge Robert M. Widney. Ozro Childs, Irish Catholic, John Gately Downey, and Isaias Wolf Hellman who donated land to establish the university. They are the founders of USC. They are donated 308 lots of land to establish the campus. They provided the necessary funds for the construction of the first buildings.

Students: Almost 53% of students are female and 47% are male students at the University of Southern California. USC has total amount students of 47,500. For the entering first-year class in 2020, 43% of incoming students are from California, 42% from the United States, and 15% from abroad. More than 115 country students are admitted at the University of Southern California.

Ranking: USC is ranked 55th in the world by the Academic Ranking of World Universities. USC is ranked 32nd among national universities in the United States. USC was ranked 22nd in the U.S. News & World report’s 2020 annual Ranking of National Universities.

Admissions: Over 70,000 students applied for admission to the undergraduate class entering in 2021. Of which 12% being admitted. The middle 50% SAT score range was 670-740 for evidence-based reading and writing, 680-790 for math, and 1370-1520 for the composite. The middle 50% ACT score range was 28-34 for math, 32-35 for English, and 31-34 for the composite.

Student Government: The undergraduate student government (USG) is the representative of the undergraduate students at USC. It consists of an elected president and vice president who lead cabinet, the legislative branch, and judicial oversight. All USG activities are funded by students. Residential Housing Association (RHA) by which housing is managed. RHA is the representative of the students who live as university residents. The Graduate Student Government (GSG) consists of senators elected by the students of each school. GSG activities are funded by graduate and professional students.
